Anna’s husband, California State Patrol officer Aaron Carpenter, has died in the line of duty. Anna must learn to forge on ahead without him. She must endure the endless memorials, commemorations, and ceremonies. She must learn to thread her way through the personal and financial challenges that confront her, family conflicts and friends’ expectations. She must now struggle to find a way to stand on her own.
